Review: Great Piece of Kit for a Great Price. - I have a personal dislike of the electronic BP monitors as they always seem to give readings which fluctuate wildly between two readings taken 2 minutes apart! On receiving this kit, I was pleased to find a nice black zippered fabric case, some basic instructions and the BP monitor itself. You will need a stethoscope to use this (which is not included.) Put the cuff round the arm and you're ready to go. Gives very accurate consecutive readings and I'm really happy to recommend this to anyone fed up with having their blood supply cut off by one of the electronic monitors which seem to take an absolute AGE to go down and leave you with a dead arm. I was trained to use a sphygmomanometer years ago, but the premise is really simple and explained in the little booklet. I'm certainly happy to use this to keep an eye on my husband's BP without worrying if the readings are accurate or not. I've only tried this monitor on other people, but I suppose you could take it yourself if you pump with the cuffed arm. Great item for a great price.

**Q: Do you need a stethoscope to get a reading?**
A: Actually no you don't. But if you want a diastolic number you will need a stethoscope. There is a way you can get the systolic number by palpation. It will give you an idea that your blood pressure may be on the high side then you can check with your doctor or local pharmacy.

**Q: Do you know of a mobile app that you like that i can use to log and track bp and other lifestyle factors to manage my hypertension?**
A: I use the BP Companion on my iPhone. It's great. My doctor likes the printed reports I give them with all the readings and more. I highly recommend it.

**Q: my friend in India asked me to bring him a "mercury apparatus". Is this indian british for blood pressure cuff? Does any cuff use mercury any more.**

A: I am hoping by headsets you mean a stethoscope which is the instrument t used to hear the blood pressure and the answer is NO. You must buy your stethoscope separately.

Best customer service. I bought this about one year ago and it was really useful and accurate . I use it daily at my work as GP. Last few days, something wrong with my bulb and valve . I cannot check the blood pressures due to that . I contacted mdf customer team through amazon and they replied instantly with link to apply for replacement. Within 5 days , I got the new one as replacement.I am really satisfied with the mdf customer service and the quality of this instrument is really good value. I totally recommend this. 👍👍👍
