It arrived as a lipstick style pack, so you just pull off the lid and twist the base to access the cork grease. There were no instructions, but this is a generic product which is used to lubricate the cork on your instrument to allow the mouthpiece to be positioned easily and to maintain the airtight seal. Having it as a lipstick helps to apply it directly where it is needed, and you can smear it where necessary with your finger. The cork grease is clear in appearance and practically odourless. It has a firm texture but is softens when it is smeared on the cork, especially if you use your fingers. You only need to use a very small amount, just enough to keep the cork lubricated. I find that applying it once or twice a week is sufficient, but this will depend on your requirements. I've used other brands and honestly can't tell the difference between any of them, so far, but I'm reassured by the Rico brand and I like the lipstick dispenser so recommend it.
