It resembles a giant hair grip. When the phone is gripped, it sits at at angle of about 45 degrees to the tripod mount. If you're using a small ball-grip tripod, forget it - you won't be able to angle the camera at all. You also won't be able to get the phone into portrait orientation. All in all, this is thoroughly useless. ### ⭐⭐ Not the best choice for horizontal photos. *by T***4 on 7 January 2016* The spring is not the strongest but should hold under normal usage. One thing to note is that once this is attached to a tripod/monopod, the camera can only point upwards at about a 20 degree angle (my best guess), so you can't use it to take pictures of anything horizontal.
