It does exactly what it’s designed to do. I’ve used this many, many times and it’s still going strong and looks like new. Brilliant sander. Review: This Palm Sander is the most effective and comfortable to use. Brilliant. - I bought this as a replacement for an old sander and it is a much better bit of kit and easier to use. The vibration is not nearly so stong which makes holding it more comfortable. It comes with a few sanding sheets but I bought some rolls of different grade sandpaper from desertcart anyway. The rolls are about 115mm wide so perfect fit, you just have to cut the length, fit to the sander then push the template through it to make the holes. It was so easy, I've cut lots of pieces of sandpaper ready to fit as and when I need them. I've used it to sand down a window sill and my husband used it on the garage door and both ended up with a great finish. Sanding down is a job I do not look forward to but it was no problem at all, in fact is was so powerful that the job was done really quickly. The dust collection bag is not great and you will still get quite a lot of dust but all sanders are like that and it's better on than off. This is my opinion im not a professional crafts man but do lots of DIY. **Q: Any idea about the differences between bo4555 and bo4556 please?** A: I've used both. Burnt out my BO4555 and replaced with the BO4556. Can't tell the difference in performance or noise! I have used both extensively on decorating jobs- nothing to choose between them. Just buy the one at the best price- it's a very good sander. Have seen a lot of other tradesmen using them. The hook and loop fastening wears off fairly swiftly so just buy a roll of the relevant sandpaper and tear off the correct length and use the clamp system. You WILL end up buying replacement grinder plates with heavy usage, but these are available on Amazon. **Q: I’m a little confused the title name states that the Makita BO4556 sander is 240 volts but the spec states 120 can someone clarify the difference** A: I can promise you that my Makita BO4556 sander is definitely 240v. It may be that the product description is taken from the American specification which would indeed be be 120volts. **Q: Does it come with a carry case?** A: No carry case, just the cardboard box containing the sander, dustbag and hole punch.I keep mine in a small canvas M&S bag along with a couple of rolls of the sandpapers I use most often- 80 and 120 grit.Carry-cases are usually overly bulky and have no room for the sandpaper.
