Pastry too, it takes all the fuss out of rubbing butter into flour. Timings are something to get used to, creaming butter and sugar for a cake takes a good deal longer than with a hand held electric whisk as of course the beater isn't revolving as fast but time is saved overall by being able to get on with other things while it does it's stuff. Other things are more similar on time. Plus it's beautiful.
