Review: Super cheap and reliable strings from a good brand - These are fantastic go-to guitar strings. I'm a causal player and have no need for fancy metals and windings, but I do like reliability and durability. D'Addario's a good and trusted brand, and at such a cheap price I don't really see a reason for me to get anything else. As for gauge, I personally love 10-46 on my LP style guitar (same as the stock ones). Super easy to bend after a few days of the strings stretching and loosening up.
Review: Good quality strings! - For uncoated strings they're decent and last a while but still prefer coated as they last and sound better for much longer. But d'addario strings are decent and good quality strings that I always seem to come back to out of all the other brands!

**Q: Hi my sons guitar teacher said I should be looking for this make of string for him but should get 8 gauge strings. would these be the right ones?**
A: 8s or 9s will be fine (as someone else said here, most guitars are set up for 9s when manufactured). One thing though, I know it was 3 years ago, but Dizzy Dave Willis is completely wrong. He says that the greater the gauge, the less tension required, but the exact opposite is the case.

**Q: How long are the baritone version of these?
I'm looking at using them on a bass vi and tuning it b-b**
A: Hi to be honest I don't know. However, I did find all strings to have at least 12" (30cm) length more than needed for a standard sized 12 string guitar. Excellent quality and for the price I would "suggest" worth a punt. Cheers now ...

**Q: What size would you guys reccommend for a floyd rose bridge? The mediums seem to have too much tension, but the medium lights are too bright...**
A: 10's are a great standard if you want a little extra stability and power at standard tuning or Eb. If you prefer bends, or have a light touch, 9's are the way to go. And as suggested in a previous post hybrid gauges should provide the best of both!Setup adjustment is usually required when changing string tension on a floyd rose trem, if you find the bridge is lifting, adjust the springs on the rear of the guitar to compensate and retune. **Q: Hi, are these suitable for a lap steel build? Making one for my son and know very little about guitars.  If not can you recommend something. Thanks**
A: I play conventional electric and acoustic/electric guitars (including slide playing), but not a lap steel, so I'm not ideally placed to advise. However, I can strongly recommend D'Addario strings as I've used them for many years with total satisfaction, but I'd suggest you do an internet search for advice on stringing i.e., which gauge will suit your son best, then check out D'Addario for a match on Amazon. D'Addario have a range of at least 4 different gauges for pedal steel.
