Previously, I was having to dismantle the pump every three months to remove pine needles from the impeller which cause low pressure in the sand filter and output jets. These socks stop just about everything getting through and are easily cleaned with the garden hose.The only down side is that our pool uses chlorine which, after about a week, starts to melt holes in the nylon sock.
