It's supposed to be that way. I'm 5'10" and 300 lbs. Big dude. I got the 3x. This robe goes all the way down to my ankles. It's big enough to wrap around myself with a lot of overlap. When the belt is tied I don't have to worry about anything showing. This robe is very soft and it's very warm. I'm currently living in a partially finished basement. I don't have heat down here besides the radiant heat from the furnace on the other side of the basement, which barely keeps it from freezing down here. The average temperature ranges from 40 to 55 degrees. This robe keeps me very warm when I'm wearing it and it is super comfy. Keeps me nice and toasty when I'm sitting in my chair watching TV or playing games. It has super Deep Pockets. And a chest pocket that velcros, though the way the velcro is attached doesn't seem all that strong. The only reason I take a star off is because the stitches on the sleeves have several Loose Ends and it has this strange ribbon on the left side that just dangles there and doesn't seem to have a purpose. For $40 I would expect the stitching quality to be a little bit better.
