She found the traditional side prism type too cumbersome, and did not close up enough for her to comfortably look through. When they arrived the first thing that we noticed was that they are much bigger than desertcart's photo suggests, and the heavy feel of them adds to the perception of quality. I own a pair of VERY expensive Leica's and comparing the image quality can see no appreciable difference, though I am sure an expert could. We can highly recommend them to anybody looking for a pair of general purpose binoculars and if I needed another pair would be have no hesitation in opting for these. From some of the other views I was unsure that i'd made the right choice but am pleased to say my worries were unfounded. These binoculars are well made, light and yet sturdy to handle, easy to use and have great clarity for lenses this size. The focus is easy and sharp (some said the adjustment was too sensitive but I did not find that at all).
