## Description

Red Line Oil 80204 Water Wetter Cooling System Treatment 12 OZ. Water Wetter is a unique wetting agent for cooling systems which reduces coolant temperatures by as much as 30 degrees Fahrenheit. This liquid product can be used to provide rust and corrosion protection in plain water for racing engines, which provides much better heat transfer properties than glycol-based antifreeze. Or it can be added to new or used antifreeze to improve the heat transfer of ethylene and propylene glycol systems. Designed for modern aluminum, cast iron, copper, brass and bronze systems. Compatible with all antifreezes, including the latest long-life variations. Red Line Oils 80204 Water Wetter Cooling System Treatment 12 OZ. Review: Seems to work - Redline say this is supposed to decrease the chance of corrosion and improve the thermal conductivity of your engine coolant, thereby transferring heat away from your engine block more effectively. You'd probably not notice a decrease in your engine temperature unless you were already suffering from overheating problems, as most vehicles have a thermostat in the block that gradually opens as the engine reaches its designed operating temperature, directing all the water around the radiator instead of keeping it looping round the block. Thus, any improvement seen by this product would be invisible, as you'd just find the thermostat not needing to open as fully. The benefit would be in protecting your engine, added piece of mind, and elimination of any hot-spots that might encourage knocking and pinking. I went on holiday last summer, which would have involved a 500-mile round-trip even if I didn't do any driving at all when we got down to our destination. Seeing as my car had just turned 35, I figured it wouldn't hurt to try this stuff - especially as she's been knocking and pinking over the past year whenever fed standard unleaded, even though I've always used the same ignition timing, and the temperature gauge had been a little high in heavy traffic occasionally too. So when I did my service right before setting off, I added this stuff to my usual 50/50 blue coolant mix. Well, the temperature gauge definitely stayed in the area I like it to be in, so I guess it does what it's supposed to. Additionally, I'd say the pinking issue was slightly better although not cured. (I suspect that's more down to the ethanol content of 95 octane leaning the mixture out too much, rather than hot-spots in the block, though. I don't want to retard the timing any further as it used to be fine on 95-octane and too little ignition advance will reduce power and efficiency, and increase temperatures). All in all, I'd say this stuff does what it says on the tin. Hopefully its anti-corrosion properties also work too.
Review: Does what it claims - So far impressive, if you're car is running a little hot as was,my kitcar this can make a difference, was running up too 100 , since adding seems to stop around 95 but usually sitting around 90 , I gues around 5 degrees less, for the money really gives peace off mind, would recommend if you're car is running a bit warm.

## Features

## Questions & Answers

**Q: will this be good for my classic mini**
A: Bradley,

I have just spent 30 minutes compiling an answer to your question. The Amazon mail delivery system rejected it. This is the nub.: As long as your cooling system is in good working order, you should have no problems. However, to get the best out of the wetting agent, you have to replace all the current coolant with it. As this fluid is expensive, any leak will be costly. I ran a L-R Discovery MPI with a similar agent without any problems. Classic Minis can suffer from overheating problems because their design was dictated by their size - most modern FWD cars have forward-facing radiators.

As far as antifreeze and anti corrosion are concerned, you might have to refer to the wetting agent's manufacturer.

Best of luck with your Mini, you lucky person!

Best regards,

Peter H Mussell

**Q: I have a e46 bmw, is thie worth getting, can i just add it to my coolant?**
A: I have classic 1967 Rover, it’s fine for that, with blue col antifreeze. I flushed the radiator first, then added blucol and water with 3 caps of water wetter. However your car is more modern and it may need a different quantity.

**Q: Can you add directly to antifreeze solution in the car?**
A: Yes, you can add Water Wetter to your current antifreeze. Use about 1/3 of a bottle for 5 litres of antifreeze solution.
