If it gets too warm ie if you keep it in your trouser pocket....it will come out and if you squeeze the tube too much it will shoot out. I have used Blistex constantly for over 20 years because I got burnt when doing outside craft fairs and I cannot wear anything else on my lips. The only thing that annoys me is when the clear liquid comes out instead of cream and it's just because it's not been mixed properly when it goes in the tube. Wouldn't be without it regardless. **Q: What is the expiry date like on these from purchase** A: The expiry date is shown on the tube and on mine it shows 05/2019. Hope this helps. **Q: Is this the same blistex as the one labeled 'medicated lip ointment' in the red package?** A: There is a difference but not in the ointment, they are the same. The one pictured is the old packaging where the tube points straight up with the hole at the top so when you squeeze it, the salve squirts out more than you need. The new one (the red packaging) has a a tube pointing straight up but has a hole on the side and only what you need comes out.
