## Overview

The Roca Dual Flush Valve Base Sealing Washer is a high-quality rubber replacement part designed to fit both old and new Roca dual flush valves. It prevents water leakage by providing a reliable seal, crafted in Spain with durable materials. Easy to install and trusted by thousands, it’s the perfect fix to stop cistern drips and save water.

## Description

Roca dual flush valve won't seal properly and is constantly passing water into the toilet pan but there is no sign of an inlet valve failure, it could very well be that the base sealing washer need to be changed. Overtime as the flush valve is opened and closed, small imperfections tend to occur in the surface of the rubber washer causing the washer to be warped and not providing an adequate seal.

Review: Does what it said on the tin! - Worked perfectly fine.
Review: Job done - Purchased to stop a cistern from dripping. Next day, discovered another cistern was also dripping so purchased another. Original order had not yet been dispatched and whilst it was too late to amend original order, the sellers had the sense to merge the orders and dispatch as one. Didn't save anything for me as it was free postage, but at least everything arrived in one delivery. Delivery was quicker than desertcart indicated, couple of days between original order and arrival. I found what part I needed on another website, but postage doubled the cost of an item costing a few £. So free delivery was welcome. I think it was even slightly cheaper when VAT was taken into account. I wasn't exactly sure if this would fix the problem, but for a few £ per cistern it was worth the gamble. I had already identified the original seal as starting to go 'a bit mushy' and whilst I had previously cleaned this off and seal looked good, it still dripped - enough to cause one cistern to refill a couple of times during the night, the other one was less obvious. I swapped out the worse cistern first and getting the old washer off was a bit fiddly. I am sure a proper plumber would know the techniques. Fitting the new one was much simpler as the new washer was quite compliant. It still dripped so I took it off and made sure it was more central as there was some movement. The cistern still dripped so I decided to let it settle in. After a couple of flushes, couple of initial drips then it stops. So job done. A couple of days later, I did the same to the other one. Lesson learned removing old washer but fitting the new was less compliant. Needed a second pair of hands. Warming the new washer in hot water may have made it easier. Long and short, £6 and 20 minutes work fixed two dripping cisterns and no more refilling during the night. The hardest part was identifying the correct make/model flush unit, and for that, I had to look elsewhere and keep my fingers crossed.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How to replace washer and remove existing one**
A: Isolate the water inlet (turn off the isolation valve). Flush the cistern. Remove the flush push buttons (press one button fully in to get access to the other button which you can then pull up). Remove the screw and remove the flush button casing (remember the positions of the full/half buttons and the casing so you can put them back as they came out) . Lift off the cistern lid. You will see the flush valve. The valve splits apart about 50mm from the bottom, by turning it anti-clockwise by about 5mm. Remove it and you will see the flush washer held in by a large plastic nut. Undo the nut, change the washer. Replace the plastic nut firmly without using excessive force. Put it all back together in reverse order. When replacing the flush button casing screw, again do not over tighten, just do the screw up until you feel the casing has making contact with the lid. Job done

**Q: What is the diameter of this washer, and of the central hole, please?**
A: outside diameter 2 5/8 inch hole 5/8 inch

**Q: I have a leaking Roca flush but how to determine the model of flush? It looks identical to the picture but dont know if thisis d1 or d2?**
A: I believe the difference is to do with the rods in the top which engage with the flush buttons. The D2D has adjustable ones with a screw thread that allow you to change where the buttons sit in relation to the cistern lid. If you remove the buttons you should instantly see if the rods are threaded.

**Q: Hi, i have a leaking toilet how do I know if it's just the seal that's failed or I need to order a whole new Roca flush valve?**
A: Mine was leaking water in to pan constantly. For a few £’s I changed seal. It worked. If not then order whole part and you’ll have a spare seal. If button is sticking then I’d say a whole new one. Plumber quoted £60. Tip to help keep water out. Wedge a screw driver in to stop it filling up.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Make sure you clean the base before reassembling.
*by M***S on 16 October 2024*

The washer was for a Roca dual flush which had a tiny drip inside the tank. I watched a video how to and changed the washer with reasonable ease. Please make sure you clean the outlet base where the washer will sit with a soft cloth.
