There is a latch that allows the rear driver side rear seat back to be pulled forward but no easy way to get to it, this solves that issue. Granted, there isn't a ton of room back there, but there's enough to store a tool kit or similar items. The installation is pretty straight forward and can be done quickly using basically just one tool. The trickiest part is initially finding and pulling up on the latch pin so you can put the seat back down to install this item. The end of the latch pin is on the right hand side of the latch mechanism facing the rear passenger door (circled in red in the attached picture). Don't try and look for it on the left hand side of the latch. Once you locate and pull up on the latch pin using the closed end of any smaller wrench (I used a 10mm but you can use pretty much any size) the rest is easy. You remove the two factory torx bolts holding down the latch assembly, attach the supplied strap to the pin, install the frame of this item over the factory latch mechanism, put the latch assembly back in it's spot and reinstall the bolts. That's it. It's important to remember that this item goes on top of the existing latch mechanism not under it. There is a long notch that allows you to slide the frame over the factory latch. The fin looking portion of this item butts up close to the end of the pin so the strap doesn't slide off the end. The materials are sturdy and of high quality.
