I think the oil bit is kind of useless, I would rather buy a wetting stone than an oil stone. But it does the job for me even without the oil. It also has 2 sides, a coarse and a fine sharpening side which is quite useful. I have not used the honing guide yet, but I will definitely need it when I sharpen my chisels for wood carving. Review: Well worth the money. - I read quite a few reviews before I purchased this. Some people said it was a little fiddly but I didn't really have any problems. I found the build quality to be satisfactory. There is some information on the pack that tells you how to get the right angle. You might want to make a jig to make this process easier/faster, just go online (youtube) to find out how. I bought a run down old number 5 plane and cleaned it up. Part of that process was sharpening the blade. I purchased a few sheets of different grade sandpaper and some really fine wet and dry paper. After that I used it on a couple of chisle I let my brother borrow. He used them to chip plaster off walls and all kinds of other abuse. They were in a really bad way. They took a bit of time but they came up great.
