The hole in the plate where the spline goes through was slightly too small but was easily opened up. The plate lifted off for easy access so was easy to hold on a flat surface and file the hole. Now working perfectly. **Q: How to installing** A: Your question isn't completely clear. The valves (if you buy the proper ones and not cheap replacements) come with instructions. It is easy to install a replacement motor in a valve but you must be sure the power is really off before you start and you will need to be sure that you cannot drop any of the tiny screws that have to be removed and replaced. Although any of the many spare motor makes will wok the cheap ones will not last as long and if your valve is a one inch (25mm) one then the life of a cheap motor may only be days - I know I have gone through a pack of four on such a valve yet one proper one inserted after all this chaos has been going now for years. Always buy a version of the valve that conforms to EN 60730, 89/336/EEC & 73/23/EEC or is stamped "Made in USA". NB: Ignore any stamped "Original". I found that the quadrant gear assembly was worn and the teeth would jump. If the manual operation works the plumbing parts are probably ok.
