Romax Rodent Seal is a 310ml industrial silicone paste reinforced with patented stainless steel fibres, designed to seal gaps and holes against rodent ingress. ## Description

Romax Rodent Seal uses a top-quality Industrial sealant in a patented mix of stainless steel fibres. The benefits of such ‘wire wool’ plus proofing materials has long been known but for the first time, they’ve been combined to offer a professional and time-saving solution to rodent exclusion. In addition, the product has been commercially tested and is ‘metal detectable’, making it a good choice for sealing around plant and machinery in the food industry, whether this be for rodents, insects or just housekeeping. This sealant, once set, will deter rats and mice from chewing through. Ideal for small holes and gaps where mice are known to be active. You will require a standard caulking gun to apply this product. Typical Applications: Sealing of wall/floor expansion joints where rodent ingress/egress is recurrent. Sealing holes to brickwork, timber, windows, door frames etc. Use within food preparation environments to seal around waste pipes, services etc. For use where grommets have been chewed to electrical conduits etc. For large holes this product can be spread over a Polyethylene Sheet to a depth of 6 mm, once cured this can be cut to any shape, simply apply Romax Rodent Seal to the area for fixing and over lay the cut out. Application: Joint surfaces must be clean, dry and free from loose material, dust or grease. How To Use: Cut off cartridge seal, cut nozzle to the required size, attach nozzle to cartridge. Extrude the sealant firmly against the joint surfaces to ensure complete contact. Tool the sealant into the joint to compact, within 5 minutes from application before skin begins to form.

Review: Very good product and flows freely out of tube - This is a brilliant product for both filling holes when removing old redundant pipes or when silicone would not deter a rodent attack because of the location. This does unlike some silicone products give off a stronger and more longer lasting smell but unless you are using indoors it is gone in a couple of hours. Indoors it may take a couple of days but the main important part is it sets hard as fast or faster than regular silicone.

It's a dark grey colour, which is fine for where I was using it, but if you're going to use it somewhere white then you may want to paint it when it sets. **Q: Can this product be used to fill large gaps around pipework plus large holes at edge of skirting board?**
A: Hi Betty, I bought the product to fill small gaps and so prevent rodents sneaking in from, but some areas or holes were bigger than others and the product was good enough to cover those also,however if the hole is too large and requires lots of matter to cover it, then maybe its better to go for some plastering product as it wit will be easier to spread and cover the hole than this. The consistency of this product is somehow slimy and rubber type and when dried its kind of feels like a trainer sole consistency which I gathered is what makes it harder for rodents to chew, but check those holes to see if they will not need a large amount of this because it takes a bit of time before this product settles and dry properly and it can come off from the edges if you don't fill the holes with it properly...that might require large amounts and for the cost, it might not be cost effective. But it is a good product.

**Q: Will I be able to use this around the hot pipe that come from the bottom of a radiator and drops below the floorboards?**
A: I don't know I used it on waste pipes, but I don't really see why not - try a bit and see.

**Q: Do you need a metal gun to use it?**
A: Hi Hayssam, any corking/skeleton gun that can hold a 330ml tube will be suitable for this. Thanks Craig

A: Haven't tried mine yet but you can normally paint over albeit you might need some form of sealer.?

It seals no problem, but it stated it has metal fibres but they still dug a hole and came through, so it’s better to just buy a normal sealer hence the reason not value for money
