The instructions are appalling and don't tell you that the software (Healthy edge) that you must use in incompatible with Mac. They also don't explain the start up routine at all well. So I received the item put the batteries in and nothing no lights no nothing. Does it only come on with the software? Who knows because the instructions dont tell you. Changed the batteries that came with it for new ones-still nothing.Tried installing the Garmin Ant -computer couldnt find it or the scales-is that because the scales weren't on? Again who knows? The instructions certainly dont tell you what you should be expecting. Returned it and got replacement. Exactly the same as the first one. Went round a friends house and borrowed his Windows PC downloaded the software, tried to start the software up and all it did was kept coming up stating error. The scales sit there no lights no nothing. I use the s/w down loadable from the Tanita website to get the full segmental readings. I also synch it to my Garmin 310xt. The 310xt will collect all but the individual limb data and upload it to Garmin Connect.
