I have short fine hair. so require a slimline hot brush. This does a good job.

You must be careful if you have hair spray on the hair.

This is my wife’s second, after the first (same model) died from 4 years of extensive home/international use. It has an unusually thick flex for a hot brush, fixed with a swivel mount. This flex is much longer than normal (9ft/2.74m) which is VERY handy for hotel rooms where electricity sockets may not be in convenient places. It automatically switches between 110v and 220v depending on where used. It takes a little while to heat up, probably adjusting to the voltage, getting hot for quick curling but won’t sizzle hair. The brush prongs are slightly longer than normal so it’s less easy to burn fingers. It comes with a UK plug, so you have to take an adapter(s) with you for the country(ies) visited overseas. It has a simple sliding on/off switch. The only design flaw is that it doesn’t have a light to indicate if it’s on or off, but that is not sufficient to take off a star, since it’s otherwise so useful for travel. It’s a pity it only comes with a 13mm brush as it’s such a useful, robust hair tool. For travellers: it weighs approx. 332gr/12oz. Not heavy, considering the ample flex.

Purchased to use on mum's short, fine hair. Get's very hot so be careful, could easily burn hair. Barrell genuine size as stated. Not sure how doing own hair would work out, be really easy to get burnt I think.

I could not do without my tongs since my hair is quite short. They do do get a bit hot and I have burnt my hand on several occasions. I would try to find a different one next time as I think an on/off light is essential. Having said that, they are good value and work well.
