Classic martial arts action. Chen Chen (Bruce Lee) returns to Shanghai for the funeral of his martial arts mentor, who died in suspicious circumstances. Whilst he is mourning his old friend, members of a rival school arrive and taunt Chen and his friends, who do not react at first. Chen later visits the rival school and humiliates them by beating every single one of them, but this causes bloody repercussions and begins to uncover the real reasons behind the mentor's death. Review: Very good quality - Perfect quality quick service Review: This Fist still has the impact of a Sledgehammer. - My Personal favorite Bruce Lee film 'Fist of Fury' ( 1972) is given the Blu Ray treatment and Medium Rare have done a great job.The picture is much improved since the Hong Kong Legends excellent platinum edition. What was really exciting is that Medium rare have also rectified the sound mix problems that were on the English dub in the Hong Kong Legends Platinum DVD. Restored is the missing line of dialogue spoken by Nora Miao to Bruce Lee in the graveyard scene. On that disc all you saw was her lips moving. The line is- for you trivia fans- " and now will you tell me about your plans" Also corrected is the missing ( on English dub) blood curdling scream that Bruce unleashes at the climax of the film. On the HK legends all you heard was the 'Fist Of Fury' theme song sung by Mike Remidios. Also for those who prefer listening to the English dub. The voice of the villain Petrov is by a member of the Golden Harvest dubbing team. In all other dubs Petrov's voice is dubbed by Bruce Lee himself doing a mean Russian accent. The HK Legends Disc for some odd reason inserted this onto the old English dub probably thinking it would please the fans. Also you not only still get the choice of the Cantonese and Mandarin dubs but also a hybrid American dub too. Foley effects sound great and are very dramatic in the amazing hard hitting fight scenes. The extras are the same featured on the Hong Kong legends disc and the menu is nicely presented while backed by the famous Joseph Koo theme tune. There is also the addition of a 24 page booklet (with reversible art work) which gives background into the true story that ' Fist Of Fury' is based on. This was the first Bruce Lee film I ever saw at the cinema and its impact has never lessened. Bruce Lees portrayal of Chen Zhen is a of a man tipped over the edge by his Kung Fu masters death and he goes insane. The fights therefore are a reflection of his insane ferociousness and Bruce Lee is absolutely terrifying to behold as he screams, punches and kicks his way to gain his revenge. And its all uncut and uncensored.

Classic
An all-time classic of Hong Kong martial arts cinema made spectacular by the legendary skills of quite possibly the greatest martial artist of all time, Bruce Lee. Based on a real character, Chen Zhen, a student of legendary Kung Fu master Huo Yuan Jia, this film was immensely popular in Hong Kong upon it's release by playing on the patriotism of the Chinese and their hate for the Japanese. Bruce Lee's character Chen is a furiously patriotic Chinese Kung Fu expert determined to stop the Japanese from bullying his countrymen and to prove that his Chinese Kung Fu is superior to their Japanese styles of karate, aikido etc. He doesn't do this by halves. Charging into a Japanese training dojo and taking on a whole class of Japanese martial arts students before tossing their sensei around like a rag doll and literally making them eat their words about the Chinese, Bruce showcases the incredible martial arts skills which have secured his place in history as an internationally famous legend and icon.

The Fist Reborn
Bruce Lee's Hong Kong Epic Fist Of Fury Finally Comes To Blu-ray. released as The Chinese Connection in Hong Kong i consider This To be The best of Bruce's relativly short Hong Kong film career. Fist Takes us right back To The china of 1908 as a martial arts master is out To avenge The murder of His Master. Of course been a Bruce Lee movie you can expect plenty of High kicking action and There are plenty. I olso like Fist Of Fury because it's The only Time we ever get To see Bruce in a love scene be it only a couple of pecks on The Neck and lips of His female co star but it's such a rare and Tender scene and a real shame he Never got more in His movies. other Than That i can't really add anymore Than what other reviewers Have well covered better Than me. Except To say it's The legend That was Bruce Lee The movies High Definition Transfer is excellent just look at The colours on Bruce's Bronzed body During The fight scenes. The Disc set olso comes with a DVD of The movie but i Tell you you Won't really need it. Extras are plenty To satisfy The most ardent fan Audio Commentary with Hong Kong movie critic Mike Leeder retrospectives on The making of The movie interviews and an excellent 24 page booklet on The movies History. Reversible art Dust jacket sleeves rounds off a pretty Decent package of This classic. This one for me was always Going To be five stars.

A brilliant film restoration!
Who would have known that one of Bruce Lee's greatest cinematic achievements could sound and, especially, look as good as it does in this recent DVD edition? Considering that this movie, much in the same way as the other early martial arts pictures that Lee made for Golden Harvest, was typically shot on a relatively low budget, with poor to average film stock being used, this restored version is nothing short of miraculous. The Fortune Star print makes it look like it was shot a few months ago, as it looks as clear as it probably never was when it first came out in March of 1972. The colour balance, the picture resolution and the correct aspect ratio are rendered so perfectly that you start noticing small details that were always missed thus far. I will give you an example: in the major fight scene where Bruce's character faces all the Japanese students in their dojo, while he's holding the famed nunchaku ready to strike his opponents yet again, there's a very tight close-up of Lee's face. Here you can clearly see the little veins in the eyes, which were fuzzy in the previous DVD edition. This is truly a classic brought back to its full glory that had previously faded, and enhances all the great qualities it possesses, namely the fact that this turned out to be one of the most dynamic, intense and spectacular performances that Bruce Lee has forever recorded on celluloid. Don't miss this DVD, you won't regret it!

Uncut version
I used to have the video of this film which had all of the nunchaku sequences cut out. So I was really pleased to be able to see the uncut version for the first time. Great film, classic Bruce Lee.

Factory製の Fists of Fury/[Blu-ray] [Import]のレビューです。

Lediglich deutsche Untertitel hätten diesem Produkt gut getan. Aber für echte Fans empfehlenswert!!!

Classic Martial Arts Flick with Bruce Lee
Story: Chen (Bruce Lee) has just returned to Shanghai with big plans, to visit his friends, marry his true love, and study with his master, but those plans are quickly derailed. His master has died and the circumstances seem quite unusual, so Chen decides to look into the matter. His fellow students agree that the death is mysterious, but it is clear that Chen will have to be the one to uncover the truth. Soon after arriving, Chen recognizes that some racial tensions are present in Shanghai, as some Japanese visitors have targeted the local Chinese, which has led to some violence. But can Chen navigate the dangerous path ahead of him and discover why his master was killed, or has he landed in a situation too difficult for one man to resolve? Entertainment Value: This martial arts classic revives a time tested genre narrative, but weaves in the kind of magic only Bruce Lee could deliver. The story is one we’ve seen countless times, but there is a reason this premise is seen so often, especially in this genre. The concept of avenging a master is one of the most popular narratives in old school martial arts cinema, one that resonates with audiences and fits the genre like a glove, but also ensures the potential for memorable showdowns is always high. And Fist of Fury delivers on the showdown, including a finale with Bruce in back to back, super fun to watch clashes that entertain and then some. The fight scenes are frequent and well crafted, with Bruce showcased in a number of sequences, from hand to hand combat to his famous nunchaku skills. The story is given room to breathe as well and pacing is usually good, so the movie is never slow and even the non action scenes are enjoyable. I do think a little tightening could have helped in some places, but that is a minor issue at best. Fist of Fury has it all, incredible martial arts battles, villains you can really hate, and a legendary hero at his peak, so this one earns a high recommendation. As you’d expect, Bruce Lee is the focus of Fist of Fury and with good reason, since he is magnetic here and turns in a terrific performance. This movie has enough narrative to give Lee a chance to show off some of his acting skills and he steps up, covering all the bases here. I think he excels in the action scenes of course, but he also has such a great sense of humor and an ease on screen, as he exudes cinematic star power. Lee is also able to handle the dramatic needs of Fist of Fury, showing a dialed up emotional range and a kind of melodrama that works perfectly with this kind of storyline and overall vibe. Not much else we could ask for, as he commands the screen, performs well, and lights up the movie with his martial arts abilities. The cast also includes Robert Baker, James Tien, Maria Yi, Tony Liu, and Nora Miao.
