All you do is put a couple of drops on the nail and leave it to dry. I use it regularly and it helps the nail weaken where it is infected and then you can peel it off. You use it just once a day so I put it on 30 mins before bed. I am 52 but would put it on my niece and nephew. It doesn't burn or hurt. I just use tissue if I get on skin but not had any problems in the 4 years I have been using it.
