Noticeably more controlled and precise. However it is very difficult to fit the speakers with their spikes, into them. With their spikes, my speakers (Quad 22ls) have about 1 inch ground clearance and trying to position the 4 spikes onto the four conical shaped cones is nigh on impossible.
