## Description

desertcart.com: BIORICA Pimple Patches for Face with Tea Tree Oil 216 pcs. Hydrocolloid Acne Pimple Patches. Blemish Patches, Acne Dots, Pimple Stickers, Acne Patch and Pimple Patch : Beauty & Personal Care

Review: Cute and affordable - I've tried quite a few different brands of pimple patches (ZitSticka, Mighty Patch, COSRX, Daolyo, BIORICA, Avarelle, etc.), and I think these are a good option if you have sensitive skin. I'll rank all the brands I have tried from best to worst just in case anyone wants to try others. So far, I would rank them like so: #1: ZitSticka Goo Getter Hydrocolloid Patch for BODY ZITS (~$14 for 9 square patches) These are by far the best I've tried, but unfortunately also the most expensive, so I really only use them on those big, angry, painful pimples I fear might leave a scar. These patches have prevented a lot of scars for me, so I try not to waste them on whiteheads or smaller pimples. They grip well but are also kind of thick, so just keep that in mind. Unfortunately, they've now changed the formula for their REGULAR pimple patches (ZitSticka Goo Getter Pimple Patches (~$15 for 36 patches)). Those used to be my go-to, but the last time I purchased them, the packaging was hot pink instead of the original white and pastel pink. The one in the hot pink packaging didn't work for me at all. I recommend you purchase their BODY PATCHES—those still come in the original white and pastel pink packaging. It says they're for your body, but I just cut them into smaller squares and use them on my face. I've stopped using the regular ones in the hot pink packaging altogether. They contain Tea Tree Oil and Salicylic Acid like most other pimple patches, but they ALSO contain Vitamin C and Niacinamide, which are great for hyperpigmentation. #2: ROSELYNBOUTIQUE Pimple Patches Effective Blemish Control (~$9 for 300 patches) I was quite impressed by these, to be honest. I didn't expect them to work, but they actually hold their own in comparison to more expensive brands. They work a tiny bit slower (which I expected), but they've helped flatten quite a few of my pimples. I use ZitSticka for the really problematic pimples, and these for the pimples that aren't AS bad but still need to be drained. They do have a herbal-y scent, but I don't mind it. Unfortunately, this brand's patches sometimes sell out, so make sure to have a backup brand. They contain Tea Tree Oil, Salicylic Acid, and Cica. Did I mention there's 300 of them though? #3: Daolyo Pimple Patches (~$10 (~$7 on sale) for 300 patches) These are basically the same as the ROSELYNBOUTIQUE ones. They're just a tiny bit cheaper and a tiny bit worse. I prefer the former, but those are sometimes sold out, and these are oftentimes on sale, so I buy these just so I'll have a huge stash. These also have a faint herbal-y scent. They're discreet, but they DO sometimes fall off in my sleep—especially the ones I put on my chin. They contain Tea Tree Oil, Salicylic Acid and Calendula Oil. #4: BIORICA (~$10 for 216 patches) I tried these patches for a couple months, but they weren't really doing it for me, so I've since found some cheaper alternatives (see above). These are worth a try if you have sensitive skin, as they don't contain any Salicylic Acid or Calendula Oil. Unfortunately, IMO, they're not as effective as other brands. They loosen up and fall off once they absorb a lot of moisture (granted, I do cut them into smaller pieces, so that might be on me), and they turn into a sticky mess if I leave them on too long. Still, everyone's skin is different, so they're definitely worth a try. They come with a pimple popper tool, and their packaging is by far THE CUTEST, so I'll miss that the most. They only contain Tea Tree Oil, as far as I could tell. #5: Avarelle (~$15 for 80 patches; ~$8 for 40 patches) These are probably the thinnest ones I've ever used. They were practically invisible. The adhesive is pretty average, so they're not the best, but they're also not the worst. They come in a variety of sizes, and some of them are HUGE, so if you cut them into smaller pieces, you'll get a ton more uses out of them. They're not worth the $15 IMO though, so I've now found some cheaper alternatives. They contain Tea Tree Oil, Calendula Oil and Cica. #6: Mighty Patch (~$13 for 36 patches) These work very well and have a decent hold, but they're also kind of expensive for the amount of patches they give you, so for just a few more dollars, I'd rather buy the ZitSticka ones since they work a lot better for me, and for a better price, I'd rather get the ROSELYNBOUTIQUE/Daolyo ones, since they come with 300 instead of 36. Case in point, I don't use these anymore, but they're a good option. Also, the only ingredient I could find was Hydrocolloid. #7: COSRX (~$25 for 240 patches) These COSRX patches used to work well, and the brand itself is great, but I'm putting them dead last because the last batch I purchased left awful, red burn-like marks on my skin. I don't know if they've since fixed their formula, but it took me a very long time to heal the literal WOUNDS, so I would never use these again. $25 for the value pack is also wild. That's it for that! Additionally, I want to mention that the white stuff you see on the patches is not necessarily "gunk" from your pimple. It's really just the hydrocolloid reacting to moisture and forming a gel-like substance. Hydrocolloid patches are meant to absorb liquid—*any* liquid. That's why they're used for blisters as well. This means you can literally put them under running water and they will all turn white. Still, they work well, but I think it's just a common misconception for people to think of the white stuff as pus lol it's not. I hope this has been helpful :)
Review: Great patches for the price! - I got introduced to hydrocolloid patches from an ad on facebook for the rainbow star styled ones. I bought some and they were so cute and worked well but were like $20 for 20 patches! That's a dollar a patch! I was hoping I could find some cheaper and found these! I really like them. They are round and come in 2 sizes which is nice for different pimple sizes. I find that they work super well with pimples that have already popped or been scratched at and heal them overnight. They stay moderately well. They will stay on overnight even if you sleep on your stomach like I do. They are meh at staying on during the day. The outside is little rigid which can get caught when you touch your face, put on glasses, that kind of thing. I can usually only wear them for a couple of hours before they start falling off during the day. That being said, they do blend pretty seamlessly into your skin since they are clear patches, and aren't very noticable if you do where them during the day! I like them a lot. If you only wear them at night I give them 10/10, minus a couple stars if you wear them during they day since you'd probably have to reapply- 7/10.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How long leave it on?**
A: When I was living overseas, I had 20 or more freckles and moles lasered off of my face and upper neck area, and after the procedure, my doctor instructed me to cover all of the open wounds with medical grade hydrocolloid dressing [which was a lot thicker and less durable than the Biorica's Acne Patches], my doctor recommended that I remove the hydrocolloid dressing every 12 or 24 hours (basically after cleansing my face once in the morning and once at night to ensure that my open wounds would not get wet) BUT after removing the dressing, I was instructed to reapply it ASAP. I wanted to share this tidbit because based on my personal experience and the recommendation of a licensed medical professional, I was basically informed that it would be all right to keep hydrocolloid dressing on our skin for an extended period of time. My doctor actually said that if it wasn't for the poor air quality and humidity in Taipei, Taiwan, we could leave the dressing on for up to five days on certain parts of our body (not the face because the skin on our face is normally thinner and regenerates at a different pace compared to the skin on our body). With that being said, my wound took a little over two weeks to completely heal so I had the hydrocolloid dressing placed over each open wound for probably 12- 14 days straight. The only time that the hydrocolloid dressing was not covering my wounds was for the 5- 10 mins after my morning shower and 5- 10 mins after I washed my face at night. Before going through this process, I was always under the impression that we need to allow our skin to breathe and I thought that using the hydrocolloid dressing for almost two weeks might be an issue but it was not, it was not.

Now to actually answer, How long leave it on?
I will leave the Biorica Ance Patches on my face for at least 6 hours (I typically want to see the yellowish/ white gel foam form on the patch because seeing the foam makes me feel like the patches are working. Plus, I just find it way more satisfying to remove a patch that has foamed up.
The longest I will keep the acne patch on doesn't exceed 24 hrs.

Side note- sometimes the patches will completely foam up (it depends on the severity of your pimple) and when that happens, it's best to go with the appearance of how much foam has formed on the patch. If the patch that is on your pimple is more yellowish-white foam than it is nude, it's time to remove the patch, properly wash and dry your face before applying on a new patch.

**Q: Is there any alcohol in this product?**
A: I don’t think so, I didn’t fully read all the ingredients but, after using the product my skin was never dried out or irritated by this acne patches.

**Q: How long do this pimple patches stay on for?**
A: I put them on overnight. Sometimes use it throughout the day.

**Q: Are these pretty thick and absorbent? I really want a thicker spot cover. Is this the one?**
A: They are thicker than some I have tried but not as thick as others. For me, the thicker they tend to be, they don’t seem to stay on as well. However, the thinner they are, the less absorbent. You’ve got to find your happy medium & what works best for you. My favorite are the Rael patches. They are on the thinner side but work extremely well... At least they do for me. These are the next best thing. They are thicker than the Rael patches but still work well. .

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Actually believe there is tea tree oil in this!
*by H***R on January 22, 2023*

I purchase a lot of different brands of these patches to try for the occasional break out due to medications. My skin personally reacts very well to tea tree oil however all of the other brands that I have purchased do not smell remotely of Tea tree oil upon opening. When I opened the package of these patches, I was pleasantly surprised by two things: the first being a free extraction tool that was included ( I wasn’t expecting it, but it is a sterile way to open up the pores to allow the patches to actively remove the liquid from the opening.). Secondly, but most importantly, when I unsealed a package of patches, I could distinctly smell tea tree oil!!! Upon using the patches, I noticed a drastic reduction in the swelling of the pimples as well as a more skin tone coloration underneath the patches which is a telltale sign of no infection from the anti- bacterial and anti- fungal tea tree oil. The patches are not the “most sticky” ones I've encountered, probably due to having tea tree oil in them, but if your skin is completely dry there will be no issues with adherence. Put them on a freshly clean, dry face before any lotions or serums for best adhesion. I also plan on using these patches for any small skin tags that might arise, as tea tree oil is great for treating skin tags and they naturally fall off after a few weeks of daily treatment. I highly recommend this brand and will be purchasing again. I bought this with my own money and in no way have been given any incentive for this review.
