Review: Brilliant book - In my first year of beekeeping, this is the third book I have bought - on the recommendation of an older man giving a talk on the subject. I totally disagree with those who criticise the black and white photographs. Many other books have pages of big coloured photographs which, at first glance, appear more appealing but this book is beautifully written and far more readable than what often amounts to a paragraph to describe a photograph. There is so much conflicting advice when it comes to beekeeping but there is something about Ted Hooper’s book that makes me feel he is the man to listen to!

In my first year of beekeeping, this is the third book I have bought - on the recommendation of an older man giving a talk on the subject. I totally disagree with those who criticise the black and white photographs. Many other books have pages of big coloured photographs which, at first glance, appear more appealing but this book is beautifully written and far more readable than what often amounts to a paragraph to describe a photograph. Came highly recommended and I can see why. The book is authoritative, detailed and a pleasure to read. The author is clearly an accomplished expert and willing to share the kind of information and tips which take a lifetime of experience to collect. A must for new beekeepers.
