I used it to install a shower head and it worked well. **Q: Is this teflon tape?** A: Yes it's teflon tape :) **Q: Can I use this to stop a leak in a spigot for a rain barrel?** A: The answer can be yes or no, depending on the application. This tape is designed to stop leaks AND provide prevent seized up threaded pipe joints, not to glue up/fill up holes or cracks in wood or plastic. As far as a spigot the spigot with have to have threads are at least 1/2" long on both the screw out spigot and on the barrel and would be best to be meatal or at a minimum wooden threads.
