These palettes are wonderful. Light yet reasonably sturdy. Thumb hole so you can paint outdoors with them. The paint somehow mixes and remains on the metal much better than on plastic or ceramic palettes. I now have 5 of them in different sizes. I think the original Holbeins were sturdier but 3 times this price. So buy 3 !!! I was amazed at how much easier it is to mix paints on metal. A revelation. It’s a bit smaller than I expected it to be but I was looking for a smaller one than my Cotman 45 half pan studio set so perfect! It’s a good size with nice mixing wells, just waiting for my Holbein paints to come. It does seem like the palette that Miyazaki uses but obviously this one won’t be as good quality as his actual Holbein palette, if you’re looking for a substitute this one would be a good one for you.
