Never used one before & spent a huge amount of time looking into all the different makes & reading reviews & asking questions of people who had already purchased this model. I feel that the Granite top is best for cooking nearly everything on . I put a selection of food out: Fillet steak, Chicken, Raw King prawns & Scallops. mixed salami & cheeses, asparagus wrapped in parma ham, mushrooms, peppers, courgettes and obviously a lovely big dish of new potatoes !!! Absolutely everything was perfectly cooked. I found the machine coped very well with everything we cooked on it, and the heat was perfect. I am so pleased we had an overhead fan though, as things do get quite hot and smokey !!! Actually, I am so impressed, that I am considering buying another machine as I feel the machine is only really good for 4 people. I will have just a granite top on the next one though as I think it is hotter and cooks better than the non stick suface. By the way, this is MRS. So far we've just used it once and it did the job very well. Having not used one myself before I wasn't sure what to expect but all the food ended up being cooked and it was fairly easy to clean afterwards.I'm giving it 5 stars because, for the price, I think it worked very well. The grilling trays could, perhaps, be a little more heavy duty and the locations on the corners didn't cook as well as the central positions.
