One I think of as 'small', the other as 'large'. The diameter at the bottom is what I'm talking about.By judicious foolery with the shelves, you can fit 12 small and 11 large bottles in here. The 12th large one will fit too if you don't mind one shelf where the bottles are diagonal and not seated properly on the shelf. That one squirrely space is actually big enough for 3 champagne bottles, so 12 small pinots, 8 large, and 3 champagne is how I've got this baby racking. For shipment, the shelves will be in a weird configuration - every shelf will need to be dropped down 1 row, and one will need to be turned over to top a rack of 4 large pinots and give room for the 3 champage on top of it.Temperature control is fine, my house generally stays in the high 60s or low 70s and these bad boys don't have any trouble keeping a full fridge within a degree of any chosen temperature - I usually store at 55, might drop it down to 50 if I'm opening a white later that night. Works fine.I bought my first one of these Wine Boss units 7 months ago, just bought a second one, so I guess that says as much as it needs to about how well I like it. I also have a 168-bottle Avanti unit out in the garage - holds about 120 pinot bottles - but frankly a smaller unit has some advantages as well - I can easily maneuver this one around, at least while it's empty, and it's whisper quiet! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars This is not a refrigerator *by G***F on Reviewed in the United States on July 9, 2019* I have owned two wine fridges in the past, both the more typical, old-school compressor variety. One Vinotemp, the other Haier. They worked fine until they didn't. They are expensive to run and it's not uncommon for the tiny compressor to die after 5 years. Unless you're a heating and cooling do-it-yourselfer, it's more expensive to fix them than replace them. And then you may have a problem figuring out how to get rid of them because they are full of environmentally hazardous materials. I have also owned a single-bottle, thermoelectric chiller. Not very efficient and noisy as heck. I have only owned this Electro Boss for 24 hours and so far it's a treat, although there are a few do's and don'ts, and a few things to realize about the limitations of this type of cooling.On the plus side, it's so quiet you can't tell if it's running, and run it does. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. Since the cooling comes from two layered metals that exchange heat when current is passed through them according to a principle called the Peltier Effect, the only moving parts are fans. No compressor, no condenser. It's a pretty big fan, but quiet, like the ones in your computer. It blows hot air out, and cold air across your wine. It takes a while to cool down, but don't panic! Mine took 12 hours to achieve 56F, but that was loaded with bottles (I couldn't wait) in a 72F room. I left ample clearance both sides, where there are vents, and back where there are more vents and the main fan. Once cooled down, it has held pretty steady.The interior is kinda cheap plastic and the shelves are thinnish metal but handle with care and it's fine. Shelves pull out with the door open 90 degrees, and are adjustable to accommodate whatever is needed. You may have to live without one shelf if you plan to store vintage Chamapagne or sexy oversized bottles a la boutique wineries. The light is nice, LED I think, and the controls are simple. Farenheit or Celsius, up and down arrows, pick a number and the unit heads for that setting. Speaking of storage, this is for long- and medium-term storage, or keeping short-term reds to drink at cellar temperature. It is not for chilling down a white wine for ice cold consumption. That's what fridges and ice are for. I put my whites and light fresh reds at the bottom, because cold air falls and warm rises. In other words, Chardonnay, Beaujolais and Zinfandel at the bottom, Cabernet, Bordeaux and Rhone up top.Now for the down sides. Set up was easy, thankfully, because the "manual" that comes with the unit is minimal. It doesn't even tell you how to install the leveler leg which was at the bottom of the box poked into the cardboard floor. It's smaller than the other three permanent feet and installs in a threaded hole inside the bottom door hinge. I had to tilt the unit back and inspect with a flashlight but at only 59 lbs, box and all, no big deal. While I was down there, I stuck a circular felt furniture slider to each foot so I can scoot the unit around easily. The door may be reversible, right or left hinged, but without instructions, I chose not to mess with it.The other down side has to do with dimensions. Although it was also no big deal for me, the photos at Amazon are wrong. This is 18 inches wide and 20+ deep, not the other way around. For those who have asked questions about cabinet and under counter installs, the unit has a big sticker on the back that says "freestanding only." It's really not meant for cabinet install, probably because it will be hard to give it enough room to breathe.Overall, I love it, and if the fan gives out at some point it's probably not a nightmare to replace like a compressor would be. It looks cool too with the stainless steel trim on the door, and the whole unit is very light weight. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Nice little wine fridge *by I***7 on Reviewed in the United States on January 16, 2020* I bought a discounted unit that was described as having minor cosmetic defects. The top left corner towards the back was slightly crushed, but for the amount I saved I am very happy with my purchase. Though I wish it was capable of cooling down more than 52 degrees F, it is very quiet and I haven't heard it produce any noises since I set it up. Not too big and was easy enough to carry into the house by myself. I have several slightly wider bottles so I had to move the racks around to accommodate them, but lowered the capacity to 24 bottles because of this. The LED light automatically shuts off after a little while, and I kind of wish it would stay on because it looks nice.
