The folds in the material flattened out easily. It was my first time using fusible batting and I found this very easy to cut and sew and iron to fabric. I would say this is on the thinner side but it appears it would make a warm blanket. I made the attached machine mat/ cover and found the padding to be adequate. I have attached images for clarity.
