There is a hint of a scent but it's a citrusy smell, not like a perfume and it's not very noticeable. I am not a fan of any fragrance in my aftershave, but this is subtle enough to have just a pleasant hint of citrus/orange. The weight of the lotion is nice - neither too heavy nor too watery. It does a nice job soothing my skin after shaving and is SPF15 which is a nice precaution for those times I don't have the opportunity or forget to apply sunscreen.
