Review: Brilliant alternative to the DIY shop foam draught excluder - highly recommended - Having used foam draught excluded for all the doors in the house I didn't realise this alternative was available until a few months back. The traditional foam draught excluded yellows after a year or so and looks shabby. The tessa draught excluder is made from rubber, much more durabale and doesn't yellow. Preparing - It takes longer to prep than fit if you are replacing the yellowed foam excluder. I recommend using a small decorators knife to get most of the foam off. Gently scrape so not to damage the woodwork. Then you'll need white spirit, a cloth and a lot of elbow grease to get the remnants off. Make sure you leave it for 1/2 hour or so to dry and wipe again with a dry cloth this time. Fitting - this is a breeze, the backing comes off easy and just fit it tight up against the edge. I used a sanding block to push it firmly all the way round and get a good fit. Cut to size with a Stanley knife as it is quite thick. Then shut the door for a while to allow it to set firmly. Quality - this is durable and well made, once the door is closed, no draughts at all and it looks great if you have white doors. Professional look rather than bodged DIY. Any down sides - Well one door doesn't quite shut, so check your doors aren't a little tight when they close before fitting or you may have issues. I will just need to adjust door catch slightly. How much do you need? Well the average door will have a high of just under 200cms, so one 6M pack will do one door comfortably. Well worth the cost in my opinion.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: what is the height and width of the D and is it in 3 by two metre lenghts.**
A: It is one long length of 6 metres not 2x 3m as other reviewers said as I Still have one at home and just measured it. Width ways it is a strip of 3 x 3d profiles attached together neasuring 9mm each.and you  can  split it into 3 separate ones as we did around our windows as a draft excluder.Hope this helps.We were pleased with our purchase.On the pack it shows 3-7mm gap size and 9 x 9mm product width.

**Q: On wood sash windows, do you stick it to the window or the frame?  and will the window still open?**
A: I have no experience of sash windows but if you want to open the window you might need to stick it to the frame although this could be less effective.  I suggest you experiment with one side of a smaller window.  A lot will depend on the size of the gap between frame and window.

**Q: Is it any good for soundproofing the flat from the street?**
A: Could help, if it’s stops drafts then sound would stop too. This is up to 9mm, so if you have big gaps in doors and windows, this ones for you.

**Q: is this better to use than P profile?**
A: Hi,Sorry I don't want you to base your purchase on my personal onion, however for the gap we had (which was fairly large) around a UPVC window which had appeared the D provided a much thicker excluder (in terms of draught and noise), I have used the P profile on smaller gaps, but to be honest if I were to buy another profile in the future I would no look for the D profile.Please bear in mind the D is for a larger gapWe have certainly noted the difference in room temperature and noise reduction in the roomHope this helps
