No, the Jettle Heats in 5 degree increments 40-90, using the left hand button, and to boil directly you would use the right hand button for 100C. We did not include 95 as a setting due to it being so close to boiling there is no use for it. Hope that helps! It will keep it hot for you for awhile after it's reached your desired temperature. **Q: Is the lid plastic and come in any contact with the hot water?** A: The lid is a combination of plastic, metal, and silicone. I assume the lid is there to prevent boil-over. The very top is a metal disk, but the sides are plastic, and there is a steam-vent on top in the center of the metal disk and that vent is made of silicone which I assume is to prevent the metal from rusting from the steam. The lid screws off and on. The interior of the base is metal (probably steel) **Q: Can I boil milk in this ?** A: You can heat milk for sure.
