Product Description Influenced by the likes of Jadakiss, Gwen Stefani, Usher, Beyonce' and Aaliyah, Natalie possesses the same versatility as those who inspired her. Her soulful voice and good looks are undeniable, but it was originally her freestyle rapping skills that got her noticed. Produced by the proven platinum power of Happy Perez (Jadakiss, Mystikal, Master P, Baby Bash, Frankie J), look for Natalie's self-titled debut album to showcase her many talents. Universal. 2005. .com Natalie, a native of Houston, struck a chord with lovesick teenagers and pop fans via her wistful first single, "Goin' Crazy." The young Latina's self-titled debut disc proves she's no one-trick pony. The album is filled with pleasant pop hooks and light hip-hop touches that should find a comfortable home amid the sounds of Jennifer Lopez, Amerie, Ciara, and Destiny's Child. Natalie's voice is light and airy, but it works well amid the album's sugary lyrics and conveys just the right sense of girlish emotion. "Energy" is a smooth, summery duet with Baby Bash; "Better Get It Right" rides a groove that seems to draw inspiration from 1980s rock hits; and "I Can't Wait" is a modernized remake of the snappy Nu Shooz hit. Former Vi3 heartthrob and Making the Band finalist Justin Ronan also pops up during "Where Are You," a sweet puppy-love duet. This is hardly a groundbreaking affair, but it does position Natalie as a strong talent with lots of pontential and just the latest diva (Destiny's Child, Brooke Valentine) to break out of Houston's bustling music scene. --Joey Guerra

Great Album
This cd is really quite good. She has a reasonably good voice and the music is catchy and fun. The first song 'crazy' is excellent and I wish for her it had been a bigger hit. The airplay in the States was good and here in Australia it was practically nill (one reason I love going to the States - to hear good music). Go get this album.

Escape to the Sky
This is a lost singer that could've been a real threat. She's not dead or anything, but I think it's safe to say Natalie put her career on the shelf. Kind of a disappointment, because she had talent, and hooked up with the right crowd. Natalie was huge in 2005, but it was mostly off of one single. When someone gets a hit single, people start asking questions like what are you going to do with your career.I can tell she was just living in the moment, because there isn't anything on the album that says "I'll be here in 5 years". You have to catch the artists that are like that. Sometimes it can be just a fad for someone. The talent was not a fad. I took a week or two to listen to this and Ariana Grande's Yours Truly, and this cd is about loving someone and the effects of them leaving.Natalie does step into the club, and also some fun moments. It didn't seem like she ran out of ideas. She is a competent musician, but didn't have much to say besides relationships. I think if you're looking to lose some days cruising with a significant other, you've got some moody music to let play.1) Goin' Crazy- The first single. A real gentle song. It was a hit, and I think you can find something to relate to in the song. The hook is good enough to work. I will say if you're more humorous and lively, you will probably be turned away. The whole album is not like this, but it does seem like it's focused on one person. If you're in a mellower mood, you'll love it. 5 out of 52) Energy- The second single. More of a jive song. It's pretty upbeat and has an even better hook than Goin' Crazy. Natalie starts to show she can make melodies. Baby Bash is here, but you can tell he's uncomfortable. It's a real smash, if you're new to Natalie check this song out first. I think you'll get infected. 5 out of 53) Better Get It Right- This song is really fluid, and the production on all three of these songs has been superb. I think this would have been a choice single, but it's a HELL of an album cut. I think it's another go to song first. The singing is enough to get you hooked. 5 out of 54) Ooh- Natalie slows things now real nice. This is a song where that special someone is in your arms. Not as great as the first three, but I think the singing is good. I think a lot of people will feel this song. It's slow, and keeps the focus on you and me. But Natalie does have something for everyone. 5 out of 55) You Don't Love Me No More- A sunny day song. Natalie turns in a smooth rap. It's kind of swaggering. This is a perspective you don't normally see from a girl. I think it's catchy, good enough to get stuck in your head a few days. A bit on the short side, and it seems like this wasn't intended to be a single. 5 out of 56) I Can't Wait- Here is a banger. Natalie does exceptional in the club. I definitely say to turn to this song first, I think you'll find a winner. The past two songs were different moods, but the feel good songs really stand out. She doesn't have anything on her mind but men. I will say that. A shining song. 5 out of 57) Stay- Not as good as Rihanna's Stay. It sounds like she wants your attention on this song. It's serious again, but the chorus is pretty good. I think when she deals with the downs instead of the ups in a relationship, her quality goes down. I think it's not as good of a song as the first six. 3 out of 58) Something About You- Natalie goes back to Energy and Better Get It Right. This is great because, it's more than likely where she does her best. I know I always point out an artist's comfort zone, but this is where the songs are the best. It's another song that's a first listen. The hook is enjoyable and the verses are reeeeal smooth. It's buttery smooth, believe it. 5 out of 59) You're the One- This is a Goin' Crazy clone. When you think about it, it's an album full of singles. I think you'll find the verses are a smash. The thing about this song is that it's not upbeat, but it's not slow either. I think we have another winner. Natalie can do more than upbeat songs, which is good. 5 out of 510) Emptiness- These past three songs should have been singles. I want to make that clear. Definitely check them out. Out of 10 songs, about 7 or 8 are first listen. She is on her AAA game. The singing is addictive, and the hook is back in it's place, which is the top. Natalie has a killer first cd. 5 out of 511) Where Are You- The would be third single. A reeal poppy song. It might be too sugary for some. The verses and chorus are really not that good. I would have to say the song is a little too sappy. 1 out of 512) Me Faltas Tu- no rating. Same song as Goin' Crazy.Out of everything on the album, what happens? The lowdown is Natalie can make some high class music when it is positive and charming. Nothing ventures out of the zone of that special someone, but the music made there is amazing.Songs like Emptiness, You Don't Love Me, and Goin' Crazy are smashes about the lows of a relationship. She can do both. Luckily, most of her songs are first listen. The dramatic ballad Stay, and sappy duet Where Are You are really the only weak points. 9 out of 11 is outstanding. If you are looking for some music for both of you together, here is a good place. There really isn't any party or raucous music.Pros: Natalie is an amazing artist for upbeat songs. She can sing and doesn't run out of ideas.Cons: Not all of the hooks are sing songy. Two songs are duds.Great Music to Play While: Getting ready to go out, Lounging with someone else

Good album! J. Lo needs to look out!
Natalie's first album is quite good. I liked Goin' Crazy, a nice mellow ballad, but it's no contest to the rest of the album. Energy, You Don't Love Me No More, Ooh, and others are solid pop numbers. One song that I love on here is her remake of Nu Shooz's '86 hit I Can't Wait, with loads of bass thumping on it to make it sound more modern. She uses the sample of Nu Shooz' song a lot better that what Vanessa Williams did on her Happiness song in 1997. Natalie's own raps within some songs show that she's not having it one bit--she's a woman of her own control and knows what she wants from her man! She's that good in shifting styles within her songs. And J Lo needs to watch out (or let alone retire from making music!), 'cause Natalie might be the next hot Latin pop singer! The album does have that Houston, Southwestern feel to it, since most of the album was recorded there. I especially liked the Spanish version of Going Crazy, the last track on the CD, so she's good at appealing this album to English- and Spanish-speaking people. A superb first effort from her.
