To get over this I mixed it with an olaplex condioner. My hair is up to my waist and I mixed half a tub with about 4table spoons of conditioner and applied it to dry hair. I wrapped my hair with a plastic carrier bag and left it on for about 30 mins. I washed and styled it as normal and I love the results. You do not need to lighten darker hair but it will only tint over whatever color you have so if you want a bright turquoise result you'll need to lighten. If you want to extend the colour, wash in cold water (yeah, I know. eek!), avoid previously mentioned things, and add a little colour to your conditioner. If you need to get the colour out, you can wash in very warm water with a clarifying shampoo, a mixture of dawn soap and baking soda, or use a soap cap.
