Not using the headphones provided, I use apple head phones- sound quality is decent. I should've smelled a rat when this appeared through my letterbox. No box, just a lot of polystyrene sheet inside a plastic mailing bag. Instructions about as much good as a chocolate teapot with endless references to functions that don't exist. Threw away half a dozen batteries that were probably okay because every time I tried to turn the player on, I got a "low battery" warning. It was only when I put a brand new out of the packet Duracell battery in and got the same message that I realised it was the standard turning off message. Rather than turning the thing on I'd been turning it on and then off again when nothing happened immediately. Having got the hang of how to turn it on, I then discovered it doesn't like certain wma files even though it supposedly supports wma files. After converting all those into mp3 format and reloading, it started making odd noises like tangled cassette tape then stopping in mid track. Pressing play again starts the interrupted track from the beginning again and plays all the way through, only for the same thing to happen on the next mp3 file. Not every mp3 file, just enough to be annoying. Why can't they make MP3 players like they used to? Nice, simple and reliable like the ten year old 64MB I've got knocking around and which still works. Pity it's so small.
