Decent for pepper; bad for salt. (Actually, see edit)
(See edit at bottom of this review.)I bought these to speed up grinding of larger amounts of fresh salt and pepper. At first these worked well. I still had to use a fair amount of effort to grind moderate amounts of salt and pepper, but nonetheless much easier (and bigger storage capacity) than run of the mill (pardon the pun) grinders.Would have been happy to give four or five stars. However as noted by other reviewers, the grinder I used for salt eventually 'jammed'. Specifically, the grain size adjuster got stuck on the large grain setting, so that the chunks of salt were coming out barely reduced in size.As with other reviewers, trying to fix this by unjamming the adjuster simply resulted in the screw breaking, rendering the grinder unusuable.I used the grinders lightly when I first got them, then had them in storage for a while, then began using them again when I unpacked them. So the actual total period of usage was probably only a couple of months of use once per day before one of them was unusable.Shame--if they'd both lasted, would have rated much more highly. Given the large number of positive reviews, maybe me (and others who experienced similar) just got unlucky with defective grinders?EDIT: After posting this review, I was very swiftly contacted by the manufacturer/seller and sent replacement grinders. Have adjusted review score accordingly.

The grinders work fine and are as described
Grant and his team at Simple Kitchen sent the item through very quickly and it arrived perfectly packaged. The grinders work fine and are as described.I didn't put up 5 stars ("I love it"), purely because i don't love the design. Nothing to do with Simple Kitchen as a company. The end of the grinder where the salt/pepper comes out is capped. This means you either grind into a cap and then remove the cap to tip the salt or pepper into the food, or you remove the cap and grind directly onto the food. Reading my description back it seems like a potentially good idea. I've just never had to think about a cap on my grinders before - having to remove it and having to not lose it. I can see them going AWOL. It does improve the aesthetic design when standing also.Perhaps i'm being a bit premature, but that's how it seems right now.

Take the grind out of grinding!
At first I was surprised by the size of these grinders but in fact their size means you get good leverage making them effortless to use. Refilling is easier too avoiding spillage and,of course, the large capacity is an advantage here as well. They are easily adjusted for fine or,as I prefer, coarser grinding. Additionally they are easy to clean and the accompanying user guide is very informative. My only criticism is that I would prefer it if the were sold singly so I could buy a third to grind dried chillies. I recommend this product and am sure the only problem you will face is deciding which way up to place them on the table!

Excellent looking product
Excellent looking product, it functions quite well, being able to adjust to the desired grain size although this works perfectly well with the peppercorns the function is not so perfect with the salt crystals. With the peppercorns one can adjust the size of the grains, try it out and readjust as necessary. The salt isn't quite as perfect, one can adjust the size of the grains of salt but if not as required you cannot readjust until the salt grains are dislodged from the ceramic grinder. It is not such a problem but should be noted that this does happen, otherwise this is a perfect pair of grinders.

Not sure
I always review things I brought last year at the beginning of the next year so I can review properly regarding the longevity and quality of the item. When I brought these they were great. They look classy and they do the job however after being in the kitchen a few months they began to rust and within the year, they stopped working entirely due to the condensation and rust issue - i'm sad to report.

Excellent at the price. A good everyday set.
Whilst I wouldn't go as far as to describe these as 'Premium' they are nevertheless excellent value for money. For less than £12 I can't see how you could expect anything better. Most importantly they seem to have spent the money on what matters most - the grinding mechanism itself. They do work very well for grinding up rock salt and peppercorns. There are signs of meeting the price point; the lids in particular are relatively thin but as I said, no complaints at this price. They are now our everyday salt & pepper set. It's also worth mentioning that the vendor (Simple Kitchen Products) seem very keen to please and I received a couple of follow up emails from them after purchasing to make sure I was completely happy. Whilst I've not had reason to contact them, it does give me a warm feeling that if there was a problem they'd sort it out!

It seems effective
I've only had the items for a couple of days so my experience of the product is limited; first impressions are benign but I;d like more time to experiment with different degrees of grinding and their effect on outcomes and longevity. I would also consider buying another set to use on spice grinding if I were to find that the grinders did a fair job in this medium. I'm less than impressed that I am urged to provide a review so soon after receipt of the items.

Pepper Mills
I don't normally do these sort of reviews as I expect all purchases to be upto scratch. Alas this is not always so however in this instance I will make an exception as the Service was prompt and they were delivered very quickly. As to the Grinders themselves I have bought several recently and none of them grinded as expected and soon gave out. These Grinders seen robust and because of their dumpy shape hold a lot of Peppercorns. The corsness or the grind is infinatly adjustable and at long last I have coursely grinded pepper which I prefer. They also deliver a good amount of pepper. All in all a great buy.
