Holds an excellent amount of water, fine tip for small lines, and has a great snap. I see no outstanding difference between this and my Silver Black Velvet brushes. It holds "slightly" less water than my BV, maybe 5-10% less, but it still retains it's lovely snap. My issue with my Silver is it dosen't have any snap at all, and the bristles go all over the place. The Black Velvets are still good(and **beautiful** lol let's be real) brushes, but it doesn't make sense to spend twice as much when there are alternatives like the Princeton Elite.
