You have to be a detective to find the on / off switch and you need to discover how to dismantle it to access the batteries to activate them. It's not mentioned in the instructions (which just cover how to adjust to your head size) and even when you get the light out (it clips into the helmet) there is no switch on it. instead you have three screws and embossed text saying 'remove cover to replace batteries'.As I write I have still not found a way to turn it on and from other comments I see I am not alone.
