Who am I to believe, as I need a firm one as I am bed bound.** A: This mattress comes vacuum wrapped - totally surprised me as I thought it would be too squishy! You need to leave it in a room for I think 72 hours for it to spring back to life - again I was not convinced. However, when it is fully operational it is a very good mattress and my son loves it. I have laid on it and it is quite firm - however, if you are bed bound I would definitely invest in a specialised mattress. If you did get this mattress I would think that you would have to replace it often. For the price it is a very good mattress but only for a spare room or a very light adult. **Q: I need a firm comfy mattress after two hip operations. Would this one do?** A: Yes it will, I've had 2 ops on each hip! I love it, it's really comfy, I used to sleep with a mattress topper and a double folded quilt on top on my mattress, I don't need them anymore x hope this helps!
