The ends are never straight, they curl up! Some of my curls remain too, I guess this is just to tidy the mess I wake up with as I have naturally wavy hair. I'm not going to heat more as my hair is fine, although I use it at 220 and I should be using it at 150 for fine hair... I'm not seeing damage yet. This one just felt more solid and of a good quality, and my hand never touched the heated parts, and the curvy design was far more attractive too. The other one felt more flimsy, and I kept almost getting burnt on the bristles.
