Review: Great value for money- a brilliant set - Was a little unsure when ordering as it seemed expensive for play food but this set is amazing. We bought it along with the pasta set for a birthday gift and our daughter loves making us salad and pasta dishes and it encourages healthy eating. The quality is first class and the recipe card is a great addition and we love following this and making up our own salads. The bottles have cord in them that make it look like you are pouring! My little girl loves this and at the age of two is now telling me she wants mayonnaise with everything!

**Q: what are the boxes made of? cardboard?**
A: Yes.  I haven't gotten them out of the box because it is a gift but can tell they are cardboard.

**Q: How many strands of linguini come in the set?**
A: I don't remember for sure; maybe 8 or 9.  The set is really cute, and the bow ties are adorable.  My niece loves it.

**Q: What is the pasta made out of?**
A: Pasta is made out of thick felt, ravioli has Velcro so my niece can put the “stuffing” in and take it out when she’s playing chef. She’s had it almost a year and it’s held up well

**Q: Are they washable?**
A: The pasta is made of sewn felt to give dimension to the pasta shapes. You could wash them carefully by hand. The boxes are made of cardboard so wipe clean only. The pots and utensils are plastic so they can be washed. Very nice quality set and fun to play with. The pretend mat that comes along with it is a nice touch as well and can be wiped clean. Same with the cooking directions that are easy to understand. Very nice, quality toy.

This is the best Melissa and doug food set so far. My daughter absolutely loves it. The set is packed full of stuff. The lettuce comes in little containers and the food can be chopped. Lovely details like being able to pour the dressing on the salad. ( It's a string that comes out of the top of the bottles!) There is a big salad bowl and a fork with velcro that can pick up the lettuce. I also got it for a great price, under £14. And it's great quality.
