I have suffered with plantar fasciitis for several years & have tried many inserts & medications recommended by my doctor all to no avail but since putting these into my work boots the pain gradually got better & I can now say that after 6mths I am totally pain free. I still wear them to aid support. I recommend these 100% to anyone suffering like I did. **Q: the arch support feels strange is that normal?** A: Yes, it does feel strange and yes it is normal! The arch support will "bed down" after two to three weeks. It is absolutely necessary to alleviate discomfort. Really good product, I work in construction & I'm on my feet all day long. **Q: What is the height of the arch?** A: The external measurement of the heel part is about 8mm, can’t measure internally but at least half the size. Would one of these insoles be of any use & can you buy individual ones?** A: Hi there, these insoles raise the arch on the foot quite a lot and a tiny bit on the heel. I would probably say by about 1cm at the most. I think there are other options that you can buy in this make that give more support on the heel itself. You can't buy them individually though just as a pair.
