I purchased it to replace my everyday pack for day hikes, personal item for the airplane, etc.Be aware it's a "soft" kind of bag. The material is a bit water resistant which is great, but it doesn't have much structure as it's not a thick nylon type that majority of packs have like jansport. So when I placed my heavier 15 inch laptop in the back compartment, the bag gets strained and stretched and I'm concerned daily use of carrying the laptop will cause rips. It's also super uncomfortable to carry anything heavier, so I won't carry my laptop with this bag. Use it for light stuff, a jacket, a tablet, pens, water bottle kinds of things. I'll use it for short hiking trips only.
