A: Screw on but one doesn't fit properly.

**Q: How easy is it to use the foot switch I have problems with balance so I'm reluctant is it on the base of the stand or is it a switch on the Pole?**
A: It is on a long wire coming out from the lamp and sits flat on the floor.
