Have sister who is vegetarian is it suitable for her ?** A: If it’s vegan I’m pretty use anyone can use it **Q: What UV star rating does SPF 50 have?** A: UV star rating is not an internationally reconised standard for sun protection it is a system created by Boots. It is only useful if comparing two lotions of the same SPF as it is a ratio not a specific rating. E.g. P20 SPF 50+ might have a lower star rating than P20 SPF 10. But the SPF 50+ will actually provide better protection than the SPF 10. So you'd have to go to boots and see if they have rated the product. Even if you could work out the ratio from the details on the bottle you'd need to know what constant boots use to relate that to their star rating. The followig from www.nhs.uk explains this further:Sunscreens were originally made to prevent sunburn by blocking UVB, and before 1990 did not contain much to prevent UVA exposure. Since then, UVA filters have become available, but there is no international system of rating UVA protection. In the UK, the "Boots star rating system" is commonly used. I’ve used half a bottle already on a couple of adult applications and kids school for 3/4 days (so only face, arms and legs for two primary kids).
