This is not a faulty product, it's what it is made for. I have to research a lot to find a tool that would give me the "natural yet expensive" type of waves. 38" is it. Tongs are not so easy to use, it requires a bit of patience and trying. But once you get the hang of it, you can get your hair done much quicker than with most other tools because of its large barrel (more hair gets wrapped per turn) Overall: decent and cheap tool that will do the trick when I want the bouncy waves.
