It sucked the garden hose shut and woudnt allow and flow and just shut itself down **Q: can it be used to pump water?** A: Amazon custom service told me no. Only for diesel. **Q: Can this be used for motor oil?** A: So I have only pump used engine oil at room temperature 60 to 70 degrees and did fine **Q: Can you use it to transfer gasoline?** A: Nope. Better not to transfer any liquids not listed ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars it works *by V***Y on Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2023* Dewalt doesn't make a transfer pump yet and I'm not on the Milwaukee platform. Have been using manual or plug in pumps but sometimes finding an outlet and using an extension cord is a hassle. This is tool only so you'll have to supply your own batteries. Max size Dewalt battery is a 4 ah, fits just right and allows the door to close completely, two small for a 6 ah or larger battery. (Don't own a 5 ah it may fit but the 6 won't) could cut back the body to accept a larger batter is it came to it but have a few 4 ah batteries anyway so that's ok. Hooked up a garden hose to intake another to the outtake side and was able to clear water out of 6 pier footings (18" dia), each had about a foot or two of water and the depth was 3 to 3 and half feet deep. Not a lot of water so i can't say the long term or continuous use but it did the job. The unit is heavy than I thought it would be in a good way as to say not cheaply made. Overall happy with it and the price is right. For reference the Milwaukee transfer pump tool only is $229 ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars DOA - Dead on arrival *by W***N on Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2023* Pump powers up, which is all it does well. Does not pump water despite over one hour of attempts by two people to get it to work. Attempted to contact alleged 24/7 customer support via email (no response) and phone (got voice message that voice mail box was full). I do not recommend purchasing this pump (I would give a no-star review if I could...).Update, attempted to contact again via email and phone, again no response to email and voice mail box again full (total, 2 emails, two calls). I didn’t wanna buy the Milwaukee because I don’t want another battery line for one tool. The light is a nice little addition to the pump, something the Milwaukee doesn’t have. It is a little more compact too. The only part that kinda sucks is you can’t put the larger size battery’s on it like the six and eight amp hour batteries.
