Product description How to use EPODEX Coating & Sealing Epoxy Resin? Step 1 Preparation The surface or mold must be dry, clean, and free of grease. The temperature of the room, material, and substrate should not be too low, as warmer conditions allow air bubbles to escape naturally (ideal: 68°F). Air humidity should not exceed 60% to avoid white or cloudy marks. Step 2 Priming For porous surfaces, apply a primer coat to prevent material loss and the formation of air bubbles. To do this, mix the resin and hardener, apply the mixture to the surface using a roller or brush, and allow it to cure. Optional Add Color Pigments If you selected a colored epoxy resin, EPODEX pigments or dyes are included in the package. Add the pigments before mixing the resin and hardener. Recommended pigment amounts per gallon of epoxy Metallic, neon: 2.5oz of pigment per gallon of epoxy. Solid colors: 1.5oz of dye per gallon of epoxy. Step 3 Mixing Mix the resin (A) with the hardener (B) in a 2:1 ratio by weight (e.g., 64oz of resin to 32oz of hardener). Move the mixing stick along the sides and bottom of the container to ensure all material is fully mixed, as unmixed material can settle there. Pour the mixture into a clean container and mix again to ensure proper curing. Step 4 Pouring Pour the material immediately after mixing, as it may begin to heat up in the mixing container. When pouring below the maximum pour depth, we recommend keeping the temperature between 63–68°F. Step 5 Curing The material reaches mechanical cure after 16–24 hours at 68°F. Review: Great Product! - Great Buy Highly Recommend!
Review: Fisheyes and spidering like crazy - While their art epoxy was great, this stuff was simply awful. No matter how I applied it I could not get anything resembling a smooth finish. The instructions are identical to the art/tabletop epoxy, however this product does not appear to be a doming epoxy. Attempting to pour it on a smooth freshly primed surface resulted in fisheeyes and a dried finish that had weblike skin. Brush/roll it on thin like a sealer and it basically acts like oil on water, wanting to “move away” from the surface.
