Impressed again with this unit. The selection of radios has become quite limited, aside from cheap junky units, smart speakers, and full-on hi-fi receivers. We wanted something in-between --- just an FM radio for the kitchen, but with decent sound. The Sangean WR-7 fits the bill: It is *very* small but looks nice, feels sturdy, and has really surprisingly good sound for a portable radio. A note on model numbers: WR-7 has various suffixes (like GW) that appear to depend on variations including power connection. WR-7GW has a micro-USB port for power, and comes with a USB-A to micro-USB cable but not with a power supply; we are using one of those little white cubes that looks like it came with an iPhone but is probably a knock-off, which is fine. Sangean also makes a model with USB-C power, but it is apparently only available in Taiwan at this time (November 2024).
