I thought I'd try this as a direct comparison that I might be able to recommend to my students, saving them a few quid in the process. I don't think I will. The design is very much a copy of the Lamy pens I mentioned but with all the manufacturing refinement removed. The two main body parts do not screw together well - you can feel the pen flex in the middle like a snapped pencil when you use it, as a result you find yourself constantly rescrewing the two halves together as they slowly unscrew themselves (though even when completely tight, there's still pronounced flex). I might try and fit some sort of rubber washer between the two halves - like lots of fountain pens have - rather than the solid one that comes fitted though I doubt it'll make much difference. The ink in mine isn't flowing too well but it's often a case of experimenting with different inks in different pens so I'm not prepared to criticise this aspect so soon after receiving the pen. I was pleasantly surprised to find the pen come with a piston fill reservoir fitted at this cost, it might come in handy elsewhere I guess. This pen isn't terrible but is it worth paying a few more quid for the safari it's so obviously trying to mimic? The plastic is brittle, and the nib is erratic. In short, spend a few pound more and get a Safari, rather than this. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great pen.
