After about 5 cuts it jams to where you have to force it open after every cut **Q: Is this an equilateral triangle?** A: yes **Q: Can it cut through cardboard?** A: I would say it may cut through very thin cardboard. Like cardstock. IYes, it does but measuring from one corner ACROSS to the other. Normally they are measured from one corner TO the other.The item itself was good, but absolutely useless for me, hence the 3 stars.
